The SLE6000's specialized lung protection features include its own High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV) using proprietary bidirectional jets, Pressure Support Ventilation (PSV), Volume Guaranteed Ventilation (VTV), and a selection of Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) modes including High- Flow therapy and nHFOV.

The SLE 6000 is the fourth generation of high frequency ventilators from SLE. The unique valve-free technology with high-speed bi-directional jets ensures powerful, effective and reliable HFO amplitude. The SLE6000's rectangular pressure curve delivers the largest tidal volume per unit pressure[1], allowing the clinician to set the lowest possible pressure while ensuring adequate volume delivery to the child. The additional advantage of this is that in full-term children, the performance of the SLE 6000 is not significantly affected when the oscillation frequency is increased[2]. The HFOV mode in the SLE6000 also offers “active exhalation”, which enables the treatment of a wide range of patients with optimal ventilation and controlled oxygenation. New in the SLE 6000 is the approved option of non-invasive HFOV for the first time.
Volume guaranteed ventilation
Volume-guaranteed ventilation (VTV) is a lung-protecting form of ventilation that drastically reduces the risk of serious complications such as BPD, pneumothorax, atelectasis and hypocapnia[3]. The SLE6000 controls and monitors the expiratory tidal volume (Vte) in volume guaranteed mode and is able to compensate for tube leaks up to 50%.
Non-invasive ventilation
The SLE6000 enables a range of non-invasive ventilation modes. What is unique is that non-invasive forms of ventilation are neatly divided into single or double tube applications. This means that the use of non-active interfaces such as Miniflow™, FlexiTrunk™ can be clearly separated from active interfaces such as InfantFlow™, Medijet™ and carried out without confusion. Non-invasive ventilation can be applied using either prongs or masks. The servo-controlled flow compensates for a variety of different leakage causes and ensures a stable and constant pressure ratio with less workload for personnel. The ability to use a standard dual tubing system for nasal CPAP allows for higher pressure plateaus with shorter rise times, which is helpful when used in acute phases of treatment. All modes can be carried out with the same hose system, guaranteeing a seamless change in ventilation modes. The comfort for the patient is further improved and the treatment costs are reduced.
High-flow oxygen therapy
High-flow oxygen therapy delivers a gas mixture through an open high-flow cannula, making it a more comfortable therapy for the child. It can be used when a growing child still needs respiratory support. This therapy option is available as an optional upgrade for the SLE6000 and allows users to provide even more comprehensive therapy for the child.
